Meet the Crew: Perin Neville

From Brisbane to Bruce Beach: A Love Story

If you ask Perin Neville why he started a pool service company, he'll give you the short answer: "My wife said so."

And sure, there's some truth there. Happy wife, happy life, and all that. But the real story? It's a lot more interesting than just keeping the peace.

Perin grew up on Australia's Gold Coast, so he's a bit far from being a Pensacola local per se, but the parallels between the place he began and the place he ended up are pretty similar. Sun, surf, and a relaxed lifestyle by the water.

Water's always been part of Perin's DNA—not pools specifically, but the ocean. Not just the Gold Coast's affinity for the beach life, but he also spent his summers diving off the coast of Papua New Guinea and in the Philippines with his mother, and even found himself building boats here in the panhandle.

But this love story begins in Brisbane, where Perin met Lindsey (our Pensacola-native) while they were both working at the Marriott. He, a very tall drink of water, and she, a very determined woman who likes her water tall. When Lindsey had to move back to the States to be near family, Perin knew he was bound for new beaches. They worked hard to get him here and were married in 2016, eventually relocating to Pensacola and starting a family.

Still Waters Run Deep

Perin's not loud or salesy. He's not going to dominate a conversation or sell you on things you don’t need. He's got a dry sense of humor that’ll sneak up on you. But if you pay attention, there's a lot going on beneath the surface.

He's a serious cinephile—the kind of guy who has opinions about directors and can talk film without being pretentious about it. He practices jiu-jitsu, which is less about aggression and more about strength and patience, tools implemented often when you have two young boys. The ability to pin them doesn't hurt either because he's a seriously involved dad. And a plus-up for team Local Livin', he studied graphic design, so he sees the world in terms of composition, balance, and how things work together visually (merch coming soon!)

When the idea of starting Local Livin' came up, Perin liked the freedom that comes with owning your own business. But, for him, Local Livin’ means more time with his family and a legacy to build for his two boys, Lincoln (7) and Asher (18 months). He wanted to prove you could do good work, build something real, and be present for the people who matter.

The CPO Who Actually Cares

Perin's a Certified Pool Operator, which means he knows his chemistry, his systems, his equipment. He's been trained by local pool experts and conducts daily chemical and product testing. The boat-building background translates—both require you to understand how complex systems function and what happens when one thing goes out of balance.

These days, weekends are a beautiful chaos. Laundry. Basketball games at the Vickrey Center. Birthday parties at Cowboy Park. Jiu-jitsu training. Trying to keep two boys alive and happy. It's the kind of grind that sounds exhausting but is actually deeply rooted in community and family.

"We are surrounded by our community, which we love and want to give back to," Perin says.

What's Next

Perin wants Local Livin' to be known for trust, family, and top-notch service. Not just talking about it. Doing it. But when you ask him why people should trust him with their pool, the answer's simpler than all that: "I care."

He wants to show value through the work, not the words. Which is good, because he’s a man of few of them.

He'll show up when he says he will, do the work right, and make sure your pool's safe for your family. Because at the end of the day, that's what matters.

And if Lindsey wants to take credit for the whole thing? Well. Happy wife, happy life. ;)

Perin's one of the founding members of Local Livin' Pool & Co. and serves as our senior tech. If you've got questions about your pool, he's got answers. Reach out anytime. Dad jokes welcome.
